Do Italian,Silver,Golden Manchurian and Tuxedo Coturnix lay well?

Hello Everyone,

Quick question do any of the quail listed in the question above lay eggs well? I found a neighbor who would give me some eggs for free, and would love to have some (very cute birds). But, I would only get them if they could give me some eggs.

Those are the different names for colors. They are all one type of bird, Coturnix. They typically lay very well but not over winter. If you want year round eggs you have to supply light during the shorter days. I personally don’t do that but many folks do with good results.
 
Yes you'll have eggs within 8 weeks of hatch. You also need to have a plan for your extra males.

I use LED string lights on a timer set to 14 hours of light with good results, but you won't need that until later in the fall.
