Do male and female turkeys strut when they are young (7-8 weeks)?

Thanks for the comments! It is killing me waiting on them to get old enough to tell. When they both start their little struts, their necks both get really red and it is so interesting to watch even though they are still trying to recover from looking really rough from the place where I purchased them from. One is a little larger than the other now and they were the same when I got them.

Also, meant to ask since I now nothing about a turkey, are these considered the broad breasted or the white midgets? Will they get a beard? Thanks!

Thanks! I had a breeder tell me he thought they were white hollands and I really hope so. I now broadbreasted have a really short lifespan because of their size now.

We have what we are pretty sure to be a pair of bourbon reds that are almost 8 weeks old now. The male (Sam) began strutting at about 5-6 weeks old and kind of started gobbling a few times. It was awesome, but it scared me for this little thing to sound like a trumpet or something. Anyway, they also started doing that little dance with each other where they move around in a circle and they did take turns laying underneath each other but only Sam strutted. Sam is bigger and has longer wing feathers on him. They almost look over-sized. I noticed yesterday that he is getting some small "knob" looking things where his spurs are developing. I didn't see them on Patti. They both seem to be losing feathers around their necks. Their necks are also a little red.

I have hens that will display sometimes, but poults don't unless they are toms, so if they are displaying they are males.
