My Coop
Hi Everyone,
I got 16 Royal Purple Guinae keets almost 2 weeks ago. They are growing fast. I sold 8 of them to my neighbor. I would like to eventually allow them to free range but they will be living with the chickens for awhile till I feel they are old enough to go out. Will male Guineas get along in a coop together? My chickens are only 5 weeks older then the Guineas and I am already having rooster issues, so I will be selling some of the roosters soon. But I will keep one or two roosters, Cochin Bantam and probably a Silkie roo. Will I need to sort out the extra male Guineas and sell them too? Will a male guinea fight with a rooster? Lol, will the Guineas need their own coop?
I have also decided to band my Guineas incase the 8 that live next door decide to come home or mine go visiting their kin.
Thanks for the information.

Generally Guineas & chickens can be housed together w/o issue. Yes, male Guineas will fight over females but not like chickens will. With G He didn't want them back.uineas it consists mostly of chasing each other around. Do band as they will wander as will the neighboring birds. I used to have Guineas then some neighbors moved in with Guineas. He didn't think he needed to feed them so pretty soon I had all the Guineas.

I used to have five males guineas and one hen... they chased each other all the time, but only two major fights occurred. When I kept them in the pen with our Turken rooster, Longshanks fought him a lot... he also found time to try mating with chickens (which by the way, is possible through artificial insememation)
