Hello All,
We have one female indoor/outdoor Muscovy and am wondering if we need to be concerned with worms? And if so how are they treated? Also, are her eggs, if fully cooked, okay to eat?

All birds get worms. Can you have some poop tested for worm eggs? that would be the best thing to do. If she does have worms, you will need to give her a dewormer like Safeguard or Valbazen.

I dont have anywhere really to take her or her poo for testing. Are the products you mentioned readily available without prescription?

Do your petsmarts, petcos, tractor supply do dog vaccine clinics? If so, you could probably drop her poop off at one of those. There are also places you can mail the poop to. If you have a dog/cat vet, they can do it too.

If you don't want to do that, you can buy both Safeguard for goats and Valbazen for cattle online or in a feedstore.

Hmmm... The various clinics all require ‘said animal’ to accompany the poop so that’s out, same with the vet. Where is it that I could mail a sample to?
