I will be placing an order for about a dozen Barred Rocks within a week or so.

Where I live we currently have 90-100 degree F highs and 70-75 degree F lows. If I insulate and keep my chick raising box covered, will I need supplemental heat? The box is rather small, so it there won't be much air space to hear up

I've misplaced my heat lamp and would prefer to not have to buy another. I'll be keeping them in the garage where it doesn't drop below 75 degrees F.

Blankets and towels will be in the box.

I have considered tossing a couple hot water bottles into the box every few hours to keep it warm for the first few weeks.

yeah so the best sugdestion i got is that you hold in like 85 degrees for like 4 weeks and then lower it down to 60 at 5 weeks then at 6 weeks lower it to 50 and then you could put them outside

You're still going to need heat at nights up to about 2-3 weeks, assuming your temperatures stay constant.

Chicks still need good ventilation, so covering up the brooder to try and keep it warm wouldn't be my recommendation.

Might want to look into a wool hen. I don't have any experience with it but some interesting results: https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...possibly-no-supplemental-heat-at-all.1126460/
