do not buy from gerbers

I think everyone needs to off the kids back and know that he wanted to rant, not get beat up or have fingers shaken in his face.

I re-read his post.....nothing was said about his sleeve, just a replacement of the workwear or refund money.

RDevries, I dont think you can get a new sleeve for your coat. Companies do not repair damages on coats. You will have to order a new coat or order a sleeve from a specific company that CAN send you a replacement and have a good stemstress to do the work. IMO, its more expensive to do this so better off get a new coat.

Since they can sell you a patch, either figure out the real cost of a good coat vs the patch AND your life.

Find another company and do your research a little better. Polyster is durable but highly flammable. Reading labels will help also. See if they have flame retardant on it.

I agree with Kim.

POst #31 is where the OP says he wants a new sleeve for his coveralls.

I know what gerber foods are. I know what gerber knives are. I have never heard of gerber the store... I looked it up..... It said they are a hunting supply store. They sell hunting clothing, not welding clothing as far as I can tell.

The employee then would be obligated to tell the customer, "I am sorry, we do not sell welding aprons."

Lying to the customer and selling them a flammable item and leading them to believe it can be used for welding would make the seller grossly responsible for any and all injuries that occur as a result thereof.

The sales clerk may not have had any idea that the OP wanted SAFETY equipment, but thought that he wanted coveralls to protect his clothing from dirt, stains, etc. Some sales clerks are very knowledgeable and others not very.

Guess all of us that weld, or torch, or work in some kind of shop
have screwed up at some point. Burnt things we didn't mean to.

I know I have.

We learn not to do those things again. We move on to new mistakes.

Me? I burnt the whole Cadillac to the ground once, putting a quarter
panel on. Learnt not to do that no more...it weren't my Caddy.

What kind was it?

My great uncle had a PRIME condition of a Caddy, just drop dead goreous two door sedan with leathers, not a scratch or dent on it! After he passed away, his nephew got it and tore it up.

It was a "boat" car, I believe it was a 1975 Caddy.
