O.k. my friend told me that a hen can turn into a rooster. I saw her hen lay eggs, now she stopped and it looks like its turning into a rooster.

They can certainly grow spurs which isnt exactly a healthy sign.
Perhaps you have a rare breed that does change, wow!!!

In what way does it look like it's turning into a rooster? I have a hen with spurs so that isn't a definite sign, if that's what you're seeing.

It is actually crowing, and is turning into a rooster, I am not joking, it is turning into a rooster.

I had a hen who decided to start crowing, and she actually sounded better than some of the roosters!!
She went broody on 1 egg and I took the baby after hatching.
About a week later she would crow every morning 5,6, 8 times.
After about 3 weeks she started back laying and the crowing stopped.

Im sure ive also had a hen start to crow half heartedly, perhaps we can teach them to talk like a cockatoo!!now would that be fun!

I've read that in some cases, if you don't have a rooster, a hen will take on the characteristics. If you get a rooster, the hen will revert.

I'm very interested about this phenomena. But, chickens are not the only one who does that: the clownfish also can! But, chickens are no clownfish, so this isn't normal. I'm sorry about your hen!

Maybe the genetic engineers couldn't find all the DNA sequence from their samples, so they filled in with frog DNA?
