We have bantam polish, all the way to English Orpingtons about to hatch on the 21st. We took them out of the turner today for lockdown, all of them look like they usually do at day 18, except for the Orpingtons. We put them in on the exact same day as the others and they are still moving and growing, but look nothing like what the others look like when we candle them...

ANY advice would be great. They are still growing, but are tiny in the egg. Do Orpingtons take longer to grow then other breeds like Cochins, Ayam Cemani, Polish, Etc?

Ive had many breeds of chickens including orphingtons, and as long as all the eggs are started at the same time they all seam to hatch starting on day 19, and all by day 22.
Same pattern with all the breeds, bantam and standard.
Good luck with your hatch!
Thank You! I wander what will happen to them.?. We will post pictures and let you know if they hatch.

Nope, all chicken breeds take 21 days if conditions are perfect. Is your incubator fan assisted or still air? I wonder if it is possible you have cool spots in your incubator where the Orpington eggs are. The lower the temps, the slower the embryos will develop.

Our incubator doesn't have a fan in it. The Orpington eggs are scattered throughout the bator, not just in one section. That's why we are so confused
