do quail go broody?

Well, I'm not sure. Do the people selling quail CHICKS hatch them under an incubator?

I'm going to TRY having mine in an aviary on the ground, and with natural grasses, trees, etc., and attempt keeping them as close to nature as possible, and seeing what they do then.

In my mind, I'm thinking if they are provided with ample room to move, fly, etc., and material to build their nests, safe place to nest, etc., then they attempt to repopulate as nature intended. Of course mine are only 3-4 weeks old, so it will be awhile before I know if my project is a success or not. Plus I only have 11 chicks to work with, and don't know yet my male to female ratio.

No I would not move a male if you don't know who her mate is or for that matter even if you know. I have one good daddy most are mean to the babies
