do chicks that get red combs at a young age ALWAYS turn out to be roos or does anyone have any experiance with them being pullets?
a friend of mine hatched some of my eggs for me, i have 7 chicks. 4 are 9 weeks and 3 are 8 weeks, only one of them has a small pale comb, 3 have small red combs and 3 have huge bright red combs.
i couldnt get pictures of all of them as they wouldnt stand still long enough, but heres some of them.

the only one i think might be a girl?????

Besides the degree of the red color of the comb, notice the difference in how far back on the head the comb has developed. In the first one, it is mostly just on the front of the head, but on the others the comb has developed up to the top of the head. I think that is an additional clue I have noticed in mine.
