Do RIRs get black in tails??

Well right now I was out feeding the chickies, when i picked up my RIR. Well I noticed, some of her tail feathers are slightly blackening!!!

Is it normal in hens too?

My RIRs have black in their tail feathers. Some have it more than others.

Oh Ok thank god, i thought she was becoming a he. She has it only on tiny parts of the tail

Now those are some DARK-red RIRs!! Pretty! Don't believe I've ever seen any with black heads and necks though.... is it just the lighting in this pic?

Yes RIR's do get black in the tail, they are considered black tailed red.
