I noticed that too. My rooster only takes them when all the hens are under the coop. If even one is out, he goes to be with her. So generally he takes them on hot, sunny summer days, or on snowy winter ones.My roosters seem to dust bath when not too much is going on.When the hens are dust bathing or foraging,he generically watch the skies,or preen his feathers and relax,they do not seem to dust bath nearly as much as hens do.
