Hi,

Can anyone tell me if shipped eggs need to be put in the refrigerator during the 6-24 hours they are supposed to rest before incubation? Do they need to be at a 45 degree or can they lay flat?
Thank you

They need to be with the large end up in room temperature. I usually put mine in an egg carton.

Thank you, can they lay flat or do I have to angle the carton 45 degrees?

At room temperature, I angle the carton for several hours, then set them flat for a few hours, and then angle them in the opposite direction for a few hours. I have also plugged in my turner, set it on a table, and put the eggs in it to rest before putting both eggs & turner into the incubator.

Good luck with your hatch!

The rest period is that they can cool or warm to room temperature before putting them in the incubator. This will prevent the occurrence of condensation on the egg shell, which can be a cause of poor hatch rates.

Let them rest at room temperature.

Thank you! For some reason I thought I was supposed to refrigerate them. I guess that is to store them until I am ready to incubate them. I got it now!
