Do silkies roost?

My 7 week old silkies seem very uninterested in roosting. Is that typical?

Mine are the same way. They just can't fly very well, so they lay on the floor. However, as they get older they started to want to get on the roosts with the other birds. I suppose they may never roost though, if all you keep is Silkies.

I have three silkies that roost at night. The rest of them like being on the floor. I also have a silkie rooster that thinks the best place to sleep is on the back of my pygmy goat!

Most of mine prefer to huddle in the corner of the pen together. In a couple of pens, I do have roosts that are 3 feet high. Some of them use them, some don't.

I have one silkie, she roosts with the rest of the big girls on the perch! I don't know how she gets up there but she does.

Mine do both. They prefer sleeping in the silkie heap but some of them roost on the two foot roost.

showgirls mine roost.A few of them roost on the hi roost that is about 6ft off the ground the others all roost on the regular roosting areas that are about 3=4ft off the ground.they don' seem to venture outside as much as the other chickens that I have.Some of other chickens forge all day and seem to be very good at getting dinner for themselves where the showgirls and big cochins all seeem to just dig big holes and dust themselves all day rolling around like puppies.They are all so cute

Mine do. It's on a low roost. About 18" off the ground.
