Hello,
I have 9 hens in a batch with a roo. 5 are 27 weeks old, the other 4 are 25 weeks old. Some of them started laying appx Sept 1st. I have never had more than 5 eggs in one day. The egg colors are varied, but if I examine them closely I would say possibly 6 different shades. Moms were Rhode Island Reds, Brown egg layers, or Silkies, dads were most likely Easter eggers. Thanks for any thoughts.

I agree they're still young, and may not come into lay until later due to shortening daylight hours. If a bird is a dud it'll be a dud regardless of breed, but too early to call these duds yet.
I prefer to call mine what they are, slackers. 🤣

Thanks guys! I am thinking of selling them and didn't want to ask laying prices (whatever those are, lol) if they weren't going to lay.
