I have three Porcelain D'uccle roosters that i purchased from Ideal Poultry. I had thought this one was a hen:

Because his comb was smaller, but then he grew tail and saddle feathers, so that changed everything.

I have concluded that all three of these are roosters. The thing that puzzles me is:
1: They haven't ever crowed
2: They don't show any rooster behavior
3: They don't come out and think i am their hen, like all the rest of the roosters do if they see me coming.
They act exactly like hens. I'm just wondering, are all porcelains like that? It's just very strange.

They are definitely male. Males mature at different rates. The only D'Uccle I've had was a mille fleur d'Uccle, a little snot-rag from a young age. The only porcelain males Ive had have been Belgian D'anvers, not D'uccles, and that breed is very different than D'Uccles in behavior in my experience. One was friendly, my remaining porcelain D'Anver male is a little jerk and has been his entire six years. I don't recall them ever being slow to mature, but as I said, each one is different in any breed. So, not sure that is any help!

They will crow at their own time. They will eventually. I only have hens so I do not know. They are definitely Roosters.

They are around 19-20 weeks old. All the other roosters crow and are breeding the hens.

We are new to chickens so take my experience with a grain of salt... ours are 12 weeks old yesterday.

we have three roos.. one scissor beak boy was the first to crow (two weeks earlier than the other just like him)... he crowed until he lost the dominance battle. Now he just coos to his hens when he finds a tasty treat, watches o'er the girls for stranger dangers and tries have his wiley ways with them. :loveAnd he tries put the abed at night but loses now and isn't allowed be the last bird on the roost.

Next roo same breed as first... tried to get his cock a doodle roo on but until he won big boy of the roost it was made known to him that that was very not acceptable. Fightin ensued. So he would watch dominant scissor beak and get across the tractor and doodle his roo and run like hell. Lol!:lau:lau:lau Once he won the fight he now cocka roossssss all stinkin day long. :he. But he gets to put everyone abed each night.

Third that we are pretty positive IS a roo but he is a dark brahma... (and we are told they mature much slower) hasn't tried his roodle yet. But. He does chase after the girls and is now tryin woo them. :smack

So i guess i am tryin say... maybe they aren't talkin yet cause they aren't "allowed"
