Do they all do this?

Every time I open the nest box to take eggs out, or go in the pen bearing treats, Sprightly opens her mouth wide and runs to me, so excited! She makes this happy laughy chatter while doing this. She loves eating the eggs, so comes running in hopes of one.

Dougie doesn't do this, she just runs and quacks. But Sprightly's face is the absolute picture of joy. Do your ducks do this when excited, or is my Sprightly just weird? 😂
Oh my gosh I can’t! That last one is too cute 😍

The last one is while I was holding an egg, she was looking at it with such happiness 😂
I would say it was more of the look of an egg-addict about to get her next hit! Or one of worship!

I agree they both look like Aylesbury, with that pink bill, although 'show' Aylesbury seem to have that horrible paunch (I really dislike that look in ducks). Whatever breed or mix they are, they are your babies and they are adorable!

Yes... she has issues, thats for sure!
I go in the pen, she runs to the nest box and starts signalling "I want", constantly, until I go get her an egg. Then she goes crazy laughing for it. And the cycle continues!
Addict for sure!

I honestly don't know if they're being dumb or well mannered, like, surely they realise they can just... go in the coop, to the nest box to get an egg themselves? They have access to them. Apparently this doesn't cross their minds. They wait until I go and toss them an egg 😂 I guess that's a good thing. But still makes me wonder 😂

Awww, lol! Yes, at least she does wait. One day, if they find a drake-friend, you might want to hatch some eggs and it would be a shame if they ate them. :(

True! If they remain well behaved in that regard, I think I may try hatching with Dougie in the future, she's just so gentle and yet protective of her sister. I think she could possibly make a good mum one day. And she's gone broody before so there's hope :D
