I just brought home 16 day old keets, put them in the utilities room downstairs in the same brooder I had my chicks in.
They are loud! The chickens were ok down there, but these guys may be moving "outside" to the enclosed area where my basement stairs are if they constantly make this noise.

They must not be happy about something. My keets in the brooder are quiet with only low level sounds being made constantly. Usually when keets, chick, poults, etc. are loud in a brooder it is because they are either too hot or too cold.

Maybe the heat, or lack of rather, they went in an hour ago at best, in an air conditioned home. I blocked off the duct to that room and have their lamp low. Will give it a while to hit temperature and see if they quiet down

LOL.... If you think they are noisy now just wait... We ended up naming our two Squeaker and Beeper. They were like having a walking alarm system on the farm that would go off on "anything" night or day... I have avoided raising any more due to the noise aspect, there is no end to the noise, though as they get older and mature they only tend to be noisy when they see something, or hear something, or think they saw something, or when you feed them, or just approach them, or the chickens crow, or they see a hawk, or maybe a sparrow etc lol... Those things drove me nuts... Probably not what you wanted to hear at this point.

As annoyingly loud as they are, they are amazing at eating bugs and small critters and they have to be the tastiest birds I have ever eaten.

The adults are very loud but contented keets just preduce a low level chirping sound similar to chicks. I have 40 keets in a brooder in my garage right now, 10 feet away from me through a leaky door, and I can’t hear a thing. If I stand right next to the brooder, I hear a constant low volume of chirps. Like chicks, if they are unhappy they will make a lot of noise trying to get help.

Just you wait.:D
