Do they need water at night?

I am very new to the chicken world. When we put our chicks in their house for the night do they need access to their food and water? We have been placing it inside near the door, but in the morning they run to it as though they didn't know it was there. Can they see in the dark or will they just go right to sleep when they get put to bed?

They can't see in the dark so they will sleep at night I don't keep food or water in the coop just in the run

Chicken normally can't see in the dark, but I do have water in the coop so it's available in the morning for them just in case am behind and late to let them out to their run, fresh water and food available both in and out for them.

Unless you are out there at dawn every day, have food and water in the coop for their breakfast. Mary
