Do WH drakes have mean personality like RIR chickens?

I hope your right duckdad, I can see it sometimes and I am not a pushover, but I tell you he has put some nice bruises on my legs. Yesterday i was sitting out there with them and here comes Opie walking around behind me getting ready to attack me how i can tell he is getting ready is he holds his wings out some and makes his noise, , I picked him up and held him on his back and he just lays there and lets me talk to him and pet him. Then when I did that a few times and put him down he walks away like everything is hunkydory. Then he'll start again. Once I pick him up he is not the least aggressive. And I have tried the waving my arms and moving towards him it doesn't work very well. He usually just stands there and lets me walk over him. Tonight just before putting him to bed, He started messing with me and I put the broom between us. Then my gander came and made him move away. He is not the dominante duck in the yard My 8year old drake is or is now, we'll see what happens when mating season starts up. I just hope he doesn't get worse than he is now, my grandkids are coming for the week after Christmas and they haven't seen him since he was a week old, it will be interesting to see how he acts around them. And thats funny about the neighbors bratty kid, I have threatened my youngest grandson with my gander before because he likes to tease the animals. And it makes me so mad. Why do kids have to be that way?

yes, your bird just wants your attention...he's semi spoiled and now he thinks your his personal entertainment, like mine does. I was told about imprinting and how that can often never go away, and your drake might be a good example. He thinks that you are supposed to play with him and even after 3 months he has not forgotten.
If he lets you lay him on his back, then he's completely at ease with you and trust you. If it helps any, buddy nearly bit my lower lip off one day when he was doing his usual "greeting" as I lift him up and hold him so that he can first snuggle against my chest and neck, then climb up on my shoulder. For a week I looked like I'd been in a fight..
I've never seen a duck that was very fond of laying on his back. My duckling goes nuts if I flip her over and the big ones will claw me to pieces...so I don;t even try anymore. I guess each bird has his/her own personality.

I know my big birds will get an attitude if they do not get the attention from me that THEY think they deserve...and they will misbehave or scream until I surrender and go play with them both.. Buddy has gotten to where he will fly up and over the pen fence outside and stroll into the house to see what I'm doing if dinner is late. He won;t wonder far, just inside far enough to see me filling bowls or chopping greens then he'll walk back out and wait. Sometimes he stands there in the open doorway and watches until I carry the goodies toward them... Breakfast @ 5am and dinner @ 5pm. Snacks and treats at 8-9pm....cucumber or grapes lately...cucumber slices is their favorite so far.
