Just want to know so Wood ducks mate for life?

no, wild ducks will choose a mate in the spring and then leave them once the hen starts to sit on eggs. then find a new mate the following year.

if they are domestic wood ducks (or any domestic ducks) - they don’t pair up at all, and you should have more hens than drakes.
