A few days ago I was in my sons room and was thinking 'He really needs new bedroom furniture'. All of it was given to us when we moved in so a lot of it is old. The chesser drawers are loosing all its handles or they are breaking off. He doesnt have a head board, which I dont mind but wouldnt mind if we had one either

ANYWAYS today I was browsing the free section and came across a NICE bedroom suit for FREE. They said there are a few scratches but nothing bad.

So then I ask him if he wont swap trucks wtih his brother and he kinda starts uhh.. uh.. and I so I remind him Beaus furniture is falling apart and this is nice free stuff! Why dont you want to get it??
He then asks his brother 'Can I borrow your truck' which of corse he says yes

Anyone else a free finder??

I love getting free stuff! I check Craigs list all the time, and that's how I got my 8x12 chicken coop--it's a great little building and I got it for a very reasonable price--the guy even moved it for me!

LOVE CRAIG'S LIST....LOVE IT!

Good for you!

I'm going at lunch time today to pick up some free Troxel horse riding helmets (actually from freecycle though). Those helmets are expensive. I'm bringing her a few dozen eggs as a thank you. I've gotten plenty of great stuff from craigslist, like nice office work clothes for free. I love craigslist and freecycle!

I am a craigslist nut! I spend about as much time on there as I do here and that is a lot. I buy and sell. I get free stuff and give away free stuff. My DH every now and then puts me on craigslist restriction.Drove 6 hours for a mule, 3 hours for a dog and 3 hours for chickens. Bought and loaded lumber, posts and tin in the dark ( the man wouldn't hold till morning ) Dug a (perfectly good) chicken house off of a mans burn pile ( while at his place buying rail road ties ). Oh I am the QUEEN of scrap and scrounge. He is embarrased at the time but proud and brags about it later. I also barter. If I don't get off the computer I'm going to be on BYC restriction.

Great find!

I am the queen of cheap, lol. My kids nicknamed me that. They know I won't buy anything unless it's on sale, or it's free. When I was still living up North near Chicago there was a church that had a twice yearly clothing swap. You could bring in whatever didn't fit your kids anymore, and you could pick up clothes that fit completely free. FREE! I love that word! So, from the time my kids were about 4 til they were about 8 I went twice a year and got them both completely new wardrobes, free. I didn't buy a single item of clothing except socks and underwear. I got them bed linens, blankets, toys, books, you name it, all at this swap. When I can get to them, I will drive around looking for good garage sales. I peruse craigslist, freecycle, and more. Last summer I found a sort of clothing sale in Danville IL. It was being held in a gradeschool and everything was $.50 each! I got both kids new clothes, I got myself some clothes, and my younger DD got a cute new pair of sandals. It was great. I get a sort of high when I save a ton of money, lol! I also hit the WalMart at the end of a season and I shop the clearance racks. Last year I hit the clearance rack in the Fall when they put all the summer clothing on sale, and I bought everything for $1 a piece. That was the kids' birthday presents. Shoes? Payless clearance, or WalMart. Got my older DD shoes for her B-Day last October and only paid $3 for them. I had to learn to shop on a budget. When I was with their father he used to take all my money to buy himself the namebrand clothes, and that left little to no money for me and the two kids to be clothed. At the time I worked inside a K-Mart, but not for K-Mart, but it was when they were just bringing back the blue light specials. Well, I was on good enough terms with the management that they would tell me what they were about to put up for the special right before they would put it up, so I would have a chance to get back there and have first pick. I loved it! Got my kids the cutest clothes all the time! Nothing they wore was ever full price when they were small. If I see a sale, I take advantage. Early this year they put those Miley Cyrus t-shirts on sale for $1 a piece. They were like $9 originally. I bought a bunch for the kids. Oh, and I also have become quite an aggressive e-bayer, lol. You DON'T want to cross me on there! I got the kids Barbie clothes on there for $2.99, including shipping, I got them beautiful dressses, shirts, pants, and more, really cheap. I should get paid to teach people how to be as cheap as I am, lol! Oh, and I almost never use coupons because I have a really bad habit of cutting them out, and them forgetting them at home.
