At our old house, we (my kids & myself) heard my husband call our names many, many times when we were upstairs and he was downstairs. We'd always yell "What?!" But then there were many times he didn't answer us. So we'd go downstairs and he'd be sound asleep on the couch. When we moved it never happened again - so it wasn't him yelling in his sleep. And he does fall asleep in the couch in our new house.
We also had toys going off all the time in the kids playroom. Changing the batteries didn't help. And it was several different toys.
There are other stories, too. We called the ghost/spirit/whatever "Charlie", and we always would say things like "Well, Charlie's at it again" or just say "Hi, Charlie!" Whatever it was, was like a jokester or something. I was never terrified. It was almost comforting - if that makes any sense. My DH did talk to one of the original owners and he said that nobody ever died in the house that he knew of.
I kind of miss Charlie, because nothing at all has happened at our new house in the 3 years since we've been here. I've heard that the people that moved in after us complained about weird stuff happening at that old house.
But even after all of those "experiences" I still don't know what/if I believe in ghosts! I keep thinking there had to have been an explanation. Who knows! I do love watching Ghost Hunters and Ghost Adventures. That one British show is stupid - those people are so dramatic!!!
ETA: Oh, I forgot about the black cat that we did see several times in the basement! It moved really quickly. I can't really explain that one, but going in that basement did creep me out. One of my cats did die in that basement. But "Charlie" was around before the cat died.
