Do you dye your hair?...

I don't dye my hair. My natural color is a kind of dark brownish in the house, but in sunlight it's brownish with a really pretty golden-red sheen to it. It just doesn't show in artificial light, which is a shame. I like it a lot!

I used to put spray-on peroxide lighteners on it as a teen, so it would be more blonde, but as I got older I wanted it permed, and the chemicals made my hair look hideous! It's too fine for both a perm and dye.

As more kids came, I couldn't afford to get it permed anymore. So I thought getting it dyed would be the thing to do. I once dyed it auburn red, and not a single person noticed, including my husband. So, I figured why bother?

My mom started putting dye in her hair when she was a teen as she started going grey very early on. When she stopped in her late 30's, she was startled to discover it was all nearly white. She looked lovely and never dyed it again.

I started getting white strands 10 years ago (I'm now 44), not grey hair, so maybe my hair will go as gorgeous as my mom's or English Chick's. I want hair like THAT! Its much slower going for me....but I can wait.

My natural color is a dirty darky dishasher blonde. I dye it usually in black with tints of blue, green, red or purple. Or copper red. Sometimes it is jet black, but i gave that up in Fl because folks started talking spanish to me. I also love the black hair with bleached and then blue highlights look.

I was born white blond and have slowly gotten darker over the years. I THINK I am a dirty blond normally.

I used to dye my hair red as well. As a blond, the roots didn't look as bad when they came out. I did find the same problem with consistency and fading fast.

I had a terrible freak hair incident a month before my wedding 3 years ago, where my hair was dyed at a salon 2x within about a month period and my hair STOPPED taking color and turn a weird greyish green and refused to take color. The only way I was able to salvage my hair for my wedding was to bleach it blond again.

It will take color as of recently.

Started blonde went brown at 3. Tried to get blonder for years. Gave up.

Mixing different kinds of dyes and using cheap dyes results in the green. Gotta make sure to tell your hairstylist what all has been done to your hair and make sure they are familiar with what was used. It's one of the reasons most professionals hate henna. It's one of the reactive dyes and if combined with the wrong thing, mixed using metal materials, or a cheap brand with junk added to thin it then you will get green hair.

Sounds like my oldest, she is taking after me and gets darker unlike her younger siblings(who are silver or golden blonde). Taylor sometimes gets a lemon spritz for evening out her blonde tone.

If you stick with the same color (tape your box top to the inside bathroom linen closet door) you should have the same color. First step, is condition your hair, dry it most the way. Next, color ONLY the roots. Leave the color on the roots and then pull it through the rest of the hair length. Leave that one for 5 minutes. It will refresh your old color and you should have the same color from root to ends of hair.

If your color fades and it is not yet time for a retouch, you can apply a 'soap cap' , made with 1 part color (mixed with = parts developer), 1 part water, 1 part shampoo. Work it through your hair and leave it on for 5 minutes. This should refresh the red between coloring times. (You should only need to do this once, in between.) Condition afterwords.

Hope this helps!

My natual hair color is black! with no~~~choice(it's boring!) since I'm Japanese. So, When I was still in Japan, I've tried to dye my hair....Orange but, it was lilttle too much for everyone in Japan. everyone turned around and looked at me.....so, I tried green but, I didint see that much difference.....so, I tried red. And I stuck with red one, I liked it! And now I'm in the United States here. I go to my friend's beauty shop and she gives me a hair cut & dye my hair red. Noriko.

When I used to dye mine myself, I used a medium ash blonde color and the stylist who fixed it told me never to use an ash color because that's what gave my hair the greenish cast. My stylist is fantastic and I'm a reddish brown now and love it. I usually go every 6 weeks but am finding that the whites just don't stay covered along the front of my hairline and really could used touched up every 2-3 weeks! But I'm not ready for that yet. Mom is totally white and has been since her thirties. She tried to dye it but gave up.
