Does anyone out there eat rabbit meat? I have never had it before but my dad & mother both say it's pretty good. I was thinking of trying it eventually, after my pair breeds & the babies are old enough.

anyone have any good rabbit recipes?

Thanks everyone

I plan to start eating rabbit again soon.

I remember when I was a kid sitting at the dinner table so happy with my stew!! Someone asked what it was we were eating and my dad snapped "Go$ darn rabbit, it'll never bite me again!"Well my brother sat back from the table in disgust and stopped eating... I remember he got so mad at me when I asked if I could finish his for him. YUMMY RABBIT STEW!! I just remember it was so good I didn't care.

Rabbit is really good, easy to clean and tasty. Rabbit stew is good but it's good in curry too,it can replace chicken in recipies. Wild rabbit tastes differant then farmed, wild is gamey and farmed is sweeter:)

Here is my favorite recipe site, I love it because you can see all the ratings other people give on recipes so you know if they are good or not. www.allrecipes.com - Just search for "rabbit" on this site and a bunch of recipes come up. We used to make ours in the slow cooker and I remember I enjoyed it growing up, haven't had it in years though.

I have 2 does in a rabbit hutch I built and that gives my wife and I all the rabbit we can eat year around. After you breed them it only takes 31 days before they are born. I wean the bunnies at 30 days old and harvest them in another 30 days. We eat rabbit that has been fried, baked or put them in the crock pot. They are really good and you know what you are eating!!!

My dad goes on and on about how good domestic rabbit meat is. I would like to try it someday, but I don't think I'll be able to talk my husband into raising meat rabbits now that we have a house rabbit.
