Do you ever become obsessed over a song?

Here’s another one. I saw the Exorcist in the 70’s with everyone else. My son was born and made me sit through many painful hours of Barney in the 90’s. To this day, I’m not certain which one was more frightening, but I still can’t get the Barney Song out of my head.

'Happy Together' is one of those weird songs. It's all goofy, syrupy sweet, bebop-y, then all of a sudden it gets really gorgeous and just makes your blood stop, then it disappears as fast as it came and it's all bebop-y again.

The Beach Boys 'Good Vibrations' does that to me. Can't stand the song except for that one part.

There's a Brothers Four song that's ho-hum, except one word and my hair stands on end.

I did that at that age, too. I spent years listening to second-hand records (Led Zeppelin, Boston, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, etc.) on a second-hand record player. (Everyone was starting to dabble with CD's, so cassettes were on the verge of dying, and records were dead....) All of that music was superior to what was being played on the radio. "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" or "Stairway to Heaven"? "More than A Feeling" or "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go"? Easy choice for me.

I love hearing music from years past. There's a Mexican radio station we get here that plays American music from many decades. I find some real gems on there.

Frank Ifield - "I Remember You" (a muted version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9RhMoC6kjMQ)
Clearer
version, but only 30 seconds: http://www.amazon.com/gp/recsradio/radio/B000000D0C/ref=pd_krex_listen_dp_img?ie=UTF8&refTagSuffix=dp_img

Melanie
- "Look What They Done To My Song, Ma"

And a weird video with a good recording of the song:

Yes. I am obsessed with the song "Everglade Run" by Yanni. It was the song played every night at Cedar Point Amusement Park after the laser light show when the park was closing down for the evening. It brings back GREAT memories (I worked there).

The iTunes Music Store does not sell it.

I youtubed that, and discovered I have never knowingly heard a Yanni song. They sound like the songs at sea World, too. ???

I would love ANY song that signaled the end of the work day. They could play 99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall and I'd have a warm spot in my heart for it!
