Do You Ever "Get Smart" With Your Chickens?

I cuss at them sometimes. Usual just kidding and all, but never real angry like I get with the dogs/cats. The chickens have nothing to break, steal, destroy etc. The birds and fish are the 'good kids', while the dogs and cats are the 'bad kids'.

"d*mnit, stop running around the barn like the stupid dog and get in already!" Of curse, the dog will then think I'm talking to him and he runs into the barn and not the bird...lol

My JG babies are two weeks old today. I call them the 'Poop-a-lot Gang'.

Oh yes.

I scold my chickens all the time for stealing my blue heelers food or getting into the garden.

My mother always laughs when she comes out of the house and sees me waving a finger in front of the chicken. "Paula, no. You cannot steal Blackeye's food. It's his. I'm afriad that if you do it again, no more watermelon for breakfast."

Or when I'm upset at my mean little bantam rooster, I glare at him and tell him he'd make a nice appetizer....

I have threatened that to mine as well. When I'm frustrated I call them dumb chickies. Usually, "no going on the deck you dumb chickies" followed by waving the broom at them. They love me, but they are terrified of what the scary broom might do to them.

OMG that is so dang funny to see the look in his eyes when I do that.

I call my chickens "pickle heads". when they were little they looked like little dill pickles runing around, so the name kinda stuck with them. You should see when I go calling them in from free roaming at night

"PICKLE HEADS!!! Where are you at my little PICKLE HEADS!~! time to come in PICKLE HEADS!!!!" i swear my neighbors pee their pants at that.

My BIG 5 month old Brahma cockerel is named Chickenpoop (but the not as nice version). One of the white silkie hens is nicknamed "The crazy little white bird". I call my mouthy BR, PepPep, a Fat Zebra Butt, when she starts complaining that I ran out of treats, or moved something, or didn't clean the coop to her satisfaction. Then I chase her around and give her chicken loves. If any the chickens go through a phase of picking on another, they're pinned on their backs and get a finger wag as I yell "That is unacceptable chicken behavior!" I'm sure our new neighbors think I'm nuts.
