I have 2 older hovabators, both wafer thermostats with one forced air and the other still and i plan to use one for a hatcher and it will only have eggs in it the last 3 days or so.

Do you favor forced air over still or does it matter those last 3 days?

forced air for better temperature controls. Although I have hatched in it before adding the fan and they did fine. You just have to keep a better eye on it with the higher humidity levels which usually result in a decline of your temps.

thanks - this is just for the last 3 days and i was concerned that the fan might tend to dry out the eggshell membrane

my forced air model has a big plexiglass top which will make chick viewing nice and so it will probably become my last 3 days hatcher while using the brinsea econo for the first stages
