Do you feed Purina ONE Lamb and Rice?

Purina one smells like chemicals to me. That alone tells me my dogs shouldn't eat it.
I feed Primarily Diamond Naturals or 4Health to the big outside dogs, and then Taste of the Wild to my inside dogs.
Really, if you do the math, its cheaper to buy the better foods, I've noticed a big difference myself.

I have 2 Chihuahua boys who would vomit occasionally, and I could never figure out why they did it. Since I have put them both on TOTW, there is no vomiting. Not to mention how much they have fluffed out and leaned up.

I suggested TOTW to my Psychology professor, whose older poodle has extreme allergies which made it difficult for her to find a worthy food for him. She bought it for him a couple weeks ago, and she told me how he loves it, and he's had no side effects or reactions to the ingredients.
I can't say enough of good things about that food. I'm always trying to show it to people, lol. I bet they think I'm crazy...

I have fed Purina one in the past and did not like the results . But actually i think that there is another issue going on with your dogs- sounds like they may have gotten into something - Check for blood in their stool - and possibly take a stool sample to the vet to rule out ghirardia(sp?) and so forth.

Taste of the Wild is terrific! I was feeding raw, and just got tired of it. Got a bag of TOTW just to give them an easy meal when Id forget to thaw, and they love it, and do wonderful on it. Old Mikey (11 years old) is galloping around like a puppy now, and his coat is magnificent. I didnt think Id go back to feeding "dog food" full time....not for my little darlings!.....but TOTW made me change my mind. And its really not expensive. They only get 1 cup a day, even tho on the bag, it says to feed them more. If I did, they'd get too fat; and they are really active, too. Love love love it.

I have been searching for the magic bullet dog food for 25 years and have tried almost all of them...Purina One is not a very good choice...it is full of fillers and junk and very little meat...I am not sure what they use as a preservative but many companies use ethoxyquin (sp?) and that is a carcinogen...Taste of the Wild is what I am feeding now and it is a good one, one of the best...I have six dogs at present, one a rescue who came in in terrible condition...he was confused, depressed, filthy, skinny...eyes were goopy, his nails looked like wolverine nails and his teeth were a mess...a good grooming, a bath, worming, vaccinations and two weeks on TOW and he has gained 9 lbs...he is bouncy and energized...all the old dead hair has been shed and his coat is beginning to soften and shine like a new penny...all of the dogs look wonderful and feel better than great...no vomiting or diarrea...firm, healthy looking stools...

I had been feeding Canidae with decent results and then they screwed around with the formula and all of my dogs had bouts of explosive diarrea...my sister had the same problem with the same food at the same time...I strongly suggest TOW...the price is a bit steep but you feed less of it for better results so it balances out...

For the dogs who are vomiting I would be checking for bloody stools and make sure they are having bowel movements...sometimes vomitng is a symptom of a blockage...but if it is more than one dog it is probably not a blockage but something ingested or yucky dog food...it could be parasites...I would have a stool sample to the vet to check for intestinal parasites...could be so many things...but I would definately put them on a better dog food...

hope you get a lock on their tummie troubles and they feel better...

I found a screw in a bag of Purina once. I called the company and they sent me a special baggie/ return envelope/form to fill out and send back to them. It kind of freaked me out that they had such a streamlined way to deal with foreign objects in their food.....

Long story short I began the search for a new food. Tried Blue Buffalo, Nutro, Wysong & Solid Gold. Finally went grain free with Taste of The Wild. No more vomiting and explosive diarrhea on a fairly regular basis, no more flaky skin & itchy spots, a thicker coat, better attention span, and an increase in muscle tone. Plus even though it is a little more $$$ per bag, they get more from the food. Now I am only feeding the recommended 4 cups instead of 10 and still hungry like on the Purina. And I dont have to replace flooring, bedding or furniture, or buy expensive cleaning products and equipment to clean up after the diarrhea & Vomit. AND most importantly they love it. I even switched my cats to the feline formula. Same thing, healthier kitty's, and I dont mind the litter box so much.
Go Grain Free!!!!! TOTW

Edited to add;
I was always worried about them with them being sick all the time. It just didn't seem right. It is not normal for dogs to be sick all the time like that even if the vet and others blow it off. If the poop is foamy, bloody, black or grey I would see the vet. If the vomiting is enough so they cant keep anything down, see the vet.

Otherwise, boil up some rice with a little chicken or hamburger, feed that to them for a couple days. That will firm them up. Then start adding a little bit of the TOTW to the rice mixture each day, a little more each day, until they get all kibble. Then you will be all good!
I hope they get well soon!

We switched to purina one about a year ago because of allergies in 1 dog(we have 7). Worked great for the allergy. Recently I have noticed they just don't seem to care for it, they really act like they would prefer something else. These are not picky animals. strange.

That's what mine were on that the screw was in!
My brother's dog has been on Pro Plan his whole life and has done great on it. He is a highly trained & trialed certified bird dog, my brother is a Guide and Finn can and does do anything. Never been sick a day in his life. I think it really depends on your dog. They have individual dietary needs just like people do. It's just something that varies in individuals like their coloring, body shape ect. Natural selection. It doesn't mean that there is anything wrong with your dog. Think about it, we expect one 'formula' of food (shouldn't the fact that the word 'formula' is used here be a clue?) to serve all dogs the same? How well would people do if everyone had to live on carnation instant breakfast, or ensure? It has a full days worth of nutrients scientifically speaking, but , really, Is it the same as getting what you need from real food?
I think some foods are 'better' than others, sure, but it's really whatever works for the dog.
I asked my vet what type of food is the best for dogs and he said there is no real answer to that, but it is like the cheaper lower quality foods are like feeding them Mcdonalds, and how well would you do living on Mcdonalds. You would survive, sure. But would you live as long as you would eating a healthier diet? What about your energy level ect.?

We have two dogs in our house were were using Purina one with them and they did "fine" on it for a while. I noticed that my 3 year old dog was just not getting around as he should be. He picked at his food and such. I switched to TOTW and he munches down his food now. Also seems way more happy. Each dog is sooo different. I would do a search on dog foods though. I am sure there great lower cost foods out there you just have to find them.
