Do you find it hard to eat your eggs???

lol im not a big egg eater no reason behind it just dont eat maney eggs my mom luaghs and tells me i better start since i had to have chickens and we dont have an incubator (i did get some silkies recently though so hopefully i get a broody) i got chickens becouse i like to see baby chicks following the mama hen around the yard

No problem eating them here...mostly duck eggs these days...and at times, I consider it self defense...if there are five dozen in the frig, ya just gotta do somethig with them...I have customers for some, eat some, scramble for the dogs...they do not go to waste...I make killer cookies and cakes with them also...

However, I do understand your issue with eating the eggs. We've run into quite a few people that we would give eggs to but they don't want them because they "see" the chickens. We've insulated the end user who eats eggs, chicken, steak, etc from the actual source that when the see the chicken, cow, pig, etc....they won't eat it. I think people forget the eggs they eat in the store come form a chicken too!

Doesn't bother me one bit. Putting a couple beef cattle on our property and they'll make might yummy steaks!

I do but for a different reason....I just want to collect them and see all the pretty eggs stored up in cartons! Only 4 of my 5 chickens have started yet and I'm soon once it becomes "old habit" I'll gobble them down no problem. Don't get me wrong...I have eaten some of them but just want to hoard them for a while.

Every time I look at anything about battery hens and the life they are put through, I quickly want to NEVER eat another store-bought egg.

Love my eggs and no prob there but I DO have a VERY hard time eating our meat chickens

I don't know why but I just do. I "pretend" to eat it so hubby doesn't know I am having a hard time with it

I'm hoping to get over that soon we have TONS of frozen chicken to eat.​

Nope, but my husband does. He is a city boy and finds a lot of the things that are common practice for me, detestable, lol.

I feel better about eating the eggs produced by my hens, than from any other hen's eggs. I know everything on my property is organic, we have never used pesticides here.

Yeah, I have that problem. Just don't tell my husband and kids. And I don't thinks its the oh it was my pet thing, it really does taste different. Really GOOD chicken, but it is different.

And no on the eggs, although I really don't eat many. Everybody else does though.
