Do you find it hard to eat your eggs???

I did have a hard time taking my first bite. But then after I forced myself to, I loved it!

Just think of all of the hard work and time you have put in, and think of the eggs as your reward!

Trust me and everyone else, your home-grown eggs are SOOOOO much better than store bought! Seriously. Mine almost taste sort of sweet. There is nothing like a fresh egg!

Besides, chickens lay eggs. That's just what they do. So, eat what your girls gave you, and enjoy!!!

Well, I grew up eating fresh chicken eggs and the hatching and raising chicks so no it is all just part of having a flock. Now, I posted a topic the other day regarding my friend not eating their chickens' eggs and just leaving them in the coop to rot so I guess there are some who do have issues with it. On another note, my family raises cows and we don't and will not slaughter any of our cows and people think we are insane but we treat the cows just like pets so how could you eat a pet. We don't kill any of our chickens either.

I was ok until we just hatched our first batch. I told hubby yesterday, no more eggs for me! LOL! I know it is weird, I just feel like they are undeveloped chicks in there. Even though, our layers (for just the purpose of eggs)have no roo in with them!

My Mother was raised on a farm but when she was 22 she moved to the city, where Dad lived. Since then she has had a hard time with farm eggs. And won't eat any I bring her. Something about eating fertile eggs. but she cooks store bought eggs daily.

I don't have a rooster, so there is no regret about an egg I could've hatched. I don't have a problem eating them, but do say thank you (out loud, even if there is no one here) to the girl who laid the egg. My flock is so small that I know exactly who lays which egg. I also tell anyone who gets their breakfast from me when visiting, "these eggs are from Lola and Tater," or whomever it was. They don't seem grossed out.

When our Star layed her 1st egg, I was so excited and couldn't wait to cook it. But my husband confessed the next day that he felt "funny" about eating eggs from our chickens. Since I already had some bought eggs, I just started mixing in the girls' eggs until the bought ones ran out. He never mentioned it again and now eats them without a second thought.

Only reason I got 'em was to eat the eggs

The difficult thing was waiting to eat the first one until we had enough for everyone!

Now, I'll be doing some meaties this year, and I might have some qualms about eating them, but we'll just have to see.

my DH and I split the first egg we got! 1 nice little scrambled egg doesn't go far between 2 people but that one bite sure was good!!

Well i finally got the nerve to eat one this morning. Actually I ate 2 because they
are so small. Silkie eggs are so small compaired to the big brown farm eggs that
I am used to buying. They were good but I was very "aware" while I was eating it!

LOL!!! Given time I am sure that I won't have a problem with this but..... I still felt
like a murderer or somthing weird !!
