I have a door on my coop, but it stays open 24/7, but If I ever need to close them up, it's there to use. My run has an apron, is covered with tuftex panels, has 2 x 4 heavy duty industrial racking on the bottom 4 ft, all the way around and has 1/2 inch hardware cloth covering everything but the roof.
