We have a pretty big closed in space for them and 1/2 the wall is just wire so the sun shines in the barn. Do I have to rush out there are can I have a cup of coffee watch some news then go out to let them into the run around 8-9 in the morning?
Thier hutch is a lean to we used to use for a horse to give you an idea of size.

If they have enough room to be comfortable I'd say you can enjoy your coffee and news. If they have enough room, food, and water they could probably stay in there for an extended period of time. They may not like it, but that's just how it goes sometimes when you're a chicken (or a dog.......or cat......or even an adult, right?!).

Don't rush. Enjoy your coffee and let them out whenever you feel like it. There is no reason you should have to rush out there first thing and let them out. My chickens come out free choice and they usually don't come out till around 8-9. The first part of their day is to eat/drink and usually lay and egg. IMO...hope it helps

Thank you all, I was not looking foreward to being bossed around again by animals.
We had an older mare who took to screaming at 6:30 in the morning to feed her. Worse then a rooster crowing having a horse screaming suns up time to feed the horse. She had us well trained lol.
