Do You Heat Your Coop? (Poll) LATEST UPDATE PG 15

Yes and No. I use a heat lamp on a temperature controlled outlet to try to keep the water from freezing but it still freezes sometimes. So to me that's not really "heating" the coop.

No, but the solar heat was cranking today. 4 large windows on the south facing wall. Was negative 8 this morning so I don't think they minded.

just a heat lamp over the water which isnt working in the single digits at night. Getting a heated bowl. I do have insulation on the outside wall but its minimal, only R19 if i remember correctly.

No. If it gets extremely cold here (when the high for the day will be below zero) I will put a lamp or two in the coop for extra heat. But until then, no heat.

Yes and No! My answer isn't easy either PC! My first coop has a flat panel heater, with a thermo cube...the water still freezes... My bantams are in a small coop (tractor size) no heater and it is 18 f in there as I write, quite honestly I'm thinking of moving them over to the big girls home...I'm a worry wort!
