Do You Heat Your Coop? (Poll) LATEST UPDATE PG 15

I don't heat the coop but I do hang heat lamps over the waterers when it's really cold out to keep them from freezing. This doesn't really heat the coop- just keeps the water from freezing. I also have lights in the coop to keep them laying but this doesn't heat the coop either.

Only have a light on during the day. When I put a trap on the side to keep the wind out it also cut out much of the light.

I do hang a red light over their waterer when it dips down below freezing (it occasionally gets into the low 20's here), but that's it.


I have free range guineas who roost in the trees at night and they (obviously!) get no heat either.

Heat lamp over the waterer, but for the most part the coop is well insulated in itself.

nope, never have, never will. I am however heating the small coop where my 3 month old silkies are.
