I provide enough heat to keep the water from freezing. It is inhumane to leave any pet with frozen water

Yes, a "Hound Heater" that has a ceramic heat bulb. They do tend to stay right under it in the winter. Still stays around 40 degrees in there when its 10 to 20 degrees outside. Eggs kept freezing last year..

no heat devices.. my chickens are outside in wire pens during 20-30 degree weather, sometimes lower and have absolutely no problem..i did wrap plastic tarps around all the pens though so they wouldn't get AS cold.. I also have a few chickens that roost in trees during this weather and the cold seems to affect them less then the ones in pens
