Do you keep your hen's first egg?

I know mostly everyone gets excited when they see that one of their hens laid their first egg and some may want to save it and keep it forever.

One of my pullets just laid her first egg and I'm tempted at preserving the shell, just to keep it as a memory as crazy as that may sound lol I was wondering if anyone else has done the same and if yes, how did you do it? What ways would you recommend at getting the yolk and egg white out of the shell without destroying most of the shell?

You can do it by drilling a hole in the fat end with a none electric normal screw driver. You just have to be really careful and not press down to hard

I wanted to save my first egg....but my 2 year old son dropped it on the floor. That was 5 years ago, though.

I blew out my first egg. It was about the same size as yours, and weighed 17 grams. I still have it, and it makes me smile whenever I see it.

To save use blowing like Sally said. I ate and didn't look back.

Take a picture, it'll last longer.

That one ended up in an egg wash for some cutlets, I think.

use a nail on both ends. poke a tiny hole. then blow your hardest and blow everything out the side that you normally would place "up" in the egg crate.

obviously all eggs go small end down due to the air sac and food safety....blow from that end
