Do you kiss your chickens?

Good grief, NOOOO!

You may get worse than worms. I was reading Bob Sheasley's book Home to Roost last week and he talked about how some Asians got avian flu from their cockfighters by SUCKING BLOOD AND MUCUS FROM THEIR BEAKS after a fight!!!

I know you are not talking about going that far (at least I hope you're not planning to slip them the tongue!) but the whole idea skeeves me out.

I absolutely kiss my baby Nugget right on the top of her adorable head! She was my first and sweetest hen. The other girls are just too flighty. I could probably eat them. maybe.

I know I have reponded before to this question, but I'll say it again, I always kiss my chickens. I just kissed my Cochin Cock a couple of hours ago and also my red Frizzle Cochin hen. Oh, almost forgot, I also kissed MUGGSY, my Cochin/Silkie hen.

The ones that let me get close enough, are usually smothered in kisses! But only when no-one is looking! My pekin roo revels in the attention, the more kisses and cuddles the better...but only when HIS girls aren't looking!

I know of someone that raises roosters for cockfighting and they do the whole sucking on the head thing. GROSS. I suppose to them it's just like kissing a boo-boo away. HAHA!
