Do you kiss your chickens?

My chickens just love to scratch through and God knows what else, my three dog's crap. They often have dog poo on their beaks, so I am not going there. I do love petting them though, Goldy, one of my B.O.s is my sweet little princess and she gets hugs and pettings every chance I get, but will not be getting a smoochy smooch.

But I do have a confession....My 3 1/2 week old chick, Ivory, was hatched from my homemade incubator and has been my baby ever since. I kiss her all the time and this may sound weird but I sometimes kiss her on the beak, too. She's just sooooo cute and adorable!!!!!

And she likes to peck my teeth...I don't know why.

LOL but she doesn't free range and all she eats is her harmless feed (which has corn and stuff in it, and that's not bad, is it?) and she cleans her feathers, but all her feathers have is a little dust on it and sometimes she gets her feed in them. Oh and sometimes she eats her poop by mistake...but I wait a while after that to kiss her beak. Other than that I think it's fine.

Wow! Well that's really gonna stink for the little girl in the avatar when she falls and scrapes a knee and you won't kiss it because it's "like kissing the ground"
So sad.

Yes...I kiss my chickens, dogs, cats, ducks and kids. I even kiss hubby after he comes home from work smelling like robot fluid. It hasn't killed me yet.

Actually I kiss booboos almost daily. I also don't get upset when they sneeze in my inhaling mouth, shoot a booger on my hand or pee on my. What I won't do is kiss them after they have been rooting around in thier own poo (not that I've had the chance yet as they don't do much poo rooting) - which is what it is to kiss a chiken. I pet the ckickens when I feel like it and when I come inside I wash my hands. Do you wash your hands after handling the birds before makeing your kids lunch? Do you handle the birds and then stick your fingers in your mouth?

Okay. I am new to this forum. I am new to having chickens. My chickens crap more than anything I have ever seen in my life. I actually want to throw up until my intestines come ouf of my body when I see what looks like chocolate soft serve ice cream come out of their butts. They pick at that crap on each other with their beaks. How anyone could KISS a chicken will forever be in my nightmares until the very day I die. I actually just swallowed my own puke just thinking of it. I use a mask and latex gloves when I clean the shed they are in out, while hoping I don't DIE of avian flu or God only knows what else. EBOLA? So, yeah, I will never ever ever kiss one. Never. As in NEVER. EVER. EVER.
