Concerned about a white spot (?) on my beloved silkie rooster. Has anyone seen this before?

It might be a little spot of favus, a fungal infection. Or it could just be where there has been a small scrape or peck wound that is healing. You can put some antifungal cream on it daily to see if it clears up. Miconazole or clotrimazole are 2 generics that are easily found in many stores.

Even saying the word "favus" makes me cringe and itch. That demo photo of that poor roo covered in the crud makes me want to run away screaming.

You should know it's fungal if applying an antifungal makes the stuff disappear. Blu-kote is a good antifungal, too. Gentian violet is the main ingredient, and I remember when my baby sister was a toddler she got her mouth painted purple to get rid of thrush which looks just like that.
