Do you laugh at your ducks?

Yayyyyyyyyy to the like minded people, have to admit I giggled at replies an funny stories.... Seriously stand up comidians etc, I struggle to laugh at!... But things to do with ducks, even imagining (as reading lill stories) just hilarious ... Clumbsy like toddlers, mischief like older children, nag nag nag like (some old people) .. oh an they can sulk like teenagers lol !..
Doctors should give out pet ducks instead of deppression tablets!
I'm sooooo glad I ducks came into my life

First let me say I love animals...we have 7 dogs, 3 cats, 2 parrots and 32 chickens and now 4 ducklings....

I never thought about it, so when I first saw my ducklings swim and they went wild and underwater, I was lie Awwwwhhhh, how cute!!! and LOOK!!! Underwater! wow!!! I alwlays stare at animals in amazement, how they look how they get along, how there fur, feathers grow out, how the eat....and Im amazed.

But today I went into the ducklings new run/coop...its about the size of almost 3- 8'-10' so they have ALOT of room....I put in a kiddie pool that Im not using yet, so no water yet, but they are using my grand daughters baby tub, and I walked in and they were running around like little hot shots, necks out and stretched down to the ground, and bolting real fast! I hadnt seen that so I had to stop what I was doing. lol

As tiny as they are ...I noticed they lay down to nap, near the edge of the other coop, the other coop holds 15 chickens in it...and the chickens lay on there side and the ducklings by them on there side. Cute!!!

Coffee with the flock. Every night my wife and I go outside for coffee with the flock. We have two lawn chairs set up by the coops and sit outside with then until lock down. The ducks can be very funny, especially when Mr. Drake gets frisky.

or when he decides the chickens or guinea are getting too close to his girls.

x2. I was originally raising them for meat and dog training, but......I can't do it. They call excitedly when I come home from work. They waddle around, squabble with one another, and have individual personalities. They give me immense pleasure.

I came home from work yesterday and it was dreary and rainy, so was my mood..........and then I looked in the yard. There was Ariel on "the wrong side" of the fence. (The fence is a mesh green fencing material made for screening construction sites etc that separates their yard from the people yard). It was raining, as I said, and not lightly either. "Ariel did you fly over that fence?" I asked as I walk over towards her, all the while getting wet. She looks at me and walks straight over to the fence, ducks her head under, and walks back in with the other three ducks (they're all Muscovy). Then the four proceed to form a circle, raise their faces straight up into the rain and mock me!! "Haw, Haw! She thought I flew over the fence." "She doesn't seem to be enjoying the rain like we are!" in their little trilling and whistle/hiss voices. My first reaction was

and then

I said, "You got me!" and headed to the house........they stayed there laughing it up for a while......I watched them from the window.

So much better than any other kind of entertainment or pill!!! I'm going to have to tighten up that fence.......

I'm a new duckie momma but boy have they turned me in circles already

I cant leave my house without going to say bye and the first thing I do when i come home is drop everything and take my daughter out back to see the "babies" and what silly things they are up to
pop.gif
The "teenage" chickens like duckie food better than their food so they try to sneak across the run to gobble up what they can before my babies see them and chase them back to their side of the yard

Its funny that no matter what mood I'm in all i have to do is think of what silly things they are up to with out me and it makes the day brighter

Now i just need mu DH to finish running the electricity out to their coop/run so that he can then instal the webcam I have been asking for so that I can really laugh and be happy all day long

I really should not have read this post thread!

Now I'm thinking I need to add some ducks to my list. I thought about it yesterday when I was at TSC here in Augusta as they only had ducks left and they were so darn cute...

Hrmmm I live not far from a lake; do you folks think they would try to fly away? Ah, time to research I suppose.

I Laughed just last night when victor gave me his best "cute face" (where he squints his eyes a little and smiles) thinking it'll get him more peas during training.... Poor thing has absolutely no impulse control. lol.
