lol

well them replies got me giggling again .. Its crazy how ducks become the funniest things, Does anyone agree with me, that ducks have got something about them, that is not found in other pets?....
I am a huge animal lover etc. an I just cant think of any pets in my life time that create the most freqent goog giggles ..

Hope this thread continues, as its really funny reading these stories

Something funny happened earlier (I always warm up the frozen peas) one frozen pea dropped on the floor, Misty picked it up and was playing with it still frozen, until the pea rolled by the dog, and the dog quickly ate it!

Then poor misty just stood staring at the dog hehehe .. But me and mist got revenge on the dog! when I made his dinner, I made him sit and watch Misty pinch a few bits out of his bowl ...

... Maybe the dog thought, that Misty had thrown the pea for him!..... OMG now i feel guilty lol

x2. I was originally raising them for meat and dog training, but......I can't do it. They call excitedly when I come home from work. They waddle around, squabble with one another, and have individual personalities. They give me immense pleasure.

The other morning I accidentally spilled some peas on the kitchen floor but was on my way to the coop had my hands full and figured I would just bring a couple chickens back in with me to clean it up :) and boyfriend hollers out the patio door to me, "HEY! who pea'd all over the floor!!!??"

I suppose it depends on what breed of duck you want. Most of us here are talking about domesticated breeds that don't fly and need protection from predators. But I suppose you can raise wild breeds and release them. I don't know much about that. :)

My ducks are just silly. My DH loves the way their feet sound running across the yard where no grass grows and its packed hard. I have a fawn runner Sammy actually called silly Sammy now. He will come running behind me and come circle around my feet once almost made me fall. I love your video the chicken in the background was looking like what the heck are you doing. Sammy and Laurel will even follow me into the house walk around a bit like ok this wasnt as fun as we thought and then go back outside.

I laugh WITH my ducks, 'cause I'm sure they're laughing on the inside! I think I'll pick up some feeder goldfish for them on the way home from work today - it's the funniest thing to watch, the sky could be falling, but they'd still be fishing.

I saw something funny at the lake. A female pekin, Daisy, was hanging around by the two Chinese ganders and flirting with a large mallard hybrid who was ignoring her. Another drake was hanging around in another area with Oreo and a few other ducks When he saw Daisy flirting with that other male, he ran right over, grabbed her and mated. But, the two ganders saw him rush over there and immediately started screaming and ran up to protect Daisy. I think one gander started gently tugging on the drake's feathers, but both just stood there, yelling. Then, when the drake was done, he ran away back to Oreo and continued on his other way while Daisy continued to flirt with the big mallard.

I think the drake was just letting Daisy know that he's her woman.

Edited due to typo.

Every day. My Angel is sleeping next to my bed because she is ill. This morning I woke up to her standing on top of her food dish, so she could get closer to me, making these soft little cooing duck sounds. I think if she could have gotten out of her little Rubbermaid tub, she would have been curled up beside me in bed when I woke up. They are so sweet, with such wonderful personalities.
