I almost busted my gut laughing last year when I first gave my half grown Mallards a big enough pool they could dive underwater in. The entire time they were growing up they did everything as a group, never more than inches apart. So they get into this pool, swimming around having a grand time when one of them would "dive" under, kicking and throwing water, this startled the others and they jumped out of the pool and ran across the pen at full speed. By time the one duck surfaced he was alone and would freak out, see the others and run to them as fast as possible. They'd all look at the pool like "what happened?" After a bit they'd get back in and in short order the same process would play itself out, hilarious.
as much as I love my chickens... I am SO glad I didn't wait too long to add ducks to my fowl entertainment. My gf mentioned to me the difference between ducks and chickens....
chickens have that ticked off and irritated look
ducks always look happy

Ha I love it. My lab Gus will play like that with one of my Roos. He thinks its a grand ol time outside with the chickens...... I can only imagine how he is going to be when I get ducks. I'm going to have to keep the camera handy.
I do it the same way I do with my daughters. Ill randomly start laughing cause I was thinking about something funny that has to do with them. Like the first time I found a ducky egg from my babies. lol. The first ducks I ever had... I got them last year on easter. I was so anxious for them to lay eggs. Finally about 7 months later I found one out by their swimming pool and thought it was a chicken egg until Flip and Flop came running at me quacking as LOUD and cautioning as possible. I nearly dropped the egg when I realized it was a duck egg. . . . . Now I have 56 ducks. LOTS of laughs!!!!!
