Hate em. Hate, hate.
Love them for the variety and decorations but hard no to eating.
I work a fall festival and the farm grows over 50 varieties of pumpkin. Little pumpkins, big pumpkins, orange, blue, white green, pink and yellow pumpkins. Striped, warts, stippled, ribbed, carving, pie pumpkins. You want it? They've got it.
At the end of the season I can take all the pumpkins my little heart desires so I load up so the chickens and geese have treats for the winter. I have gallons of seeds if anyone is ever interested. They will most likely be cross bred Frankenstein pumpkins but could be fun...
Hate em.
No judgement here! I get it, not everyone has the same tastes. People never understand when I say I don't like candy or donuts. I simply just don't like the taste of them there is no other reason💁 I am jealous of the free pumpkins thought!

Sugar pies are great! I buy my seeds from Johnny's and have had great success with them. I actually bought a full pound of the Musquee De Provence seeds which i think is somewhere around 3,000+ seeds. My husband was not amused😅
If I can't find seed local and have to order I always get extra. Figure if I'm going to pay shipping I want a bunch! Sometimes I go overboard. 😆 I also save seed off a lot of stuff. To be honest...I'm a seed hoarder. 🤪 I have found by keeping seeds in the refrigerator they will last a long time. When I start to notice a drop in germination, I just plant a few extra and thin if I need to. I have grown seeds that was 10+ years old! Not all seed will keep this long but many will if stored cool and dry.

I have way to many containers of seed in the fridge in the barn. DH says it's now my seed vault. lol He likes getting the fresh veggies so he tolerates my seed collection.

We're attempting the Atlantic Giant pumpkins that can get over 1,000lbs if grown properly.

You are going to need a fork lift! or at least a wench! 😊

My uncle is a retired farmer. When I was a kid he always grew
80-100# watermelons and huge pumpkins. The pumpkins would get so big you couldn't lift them. He'd take a flat bed trailer and put the largest one on the trailer still growing on the vine. When if was grown he'd pull it to his side yard and my aunt would use it in a fall display. Most years they'd make a jack-o-lantern with it. He used a saw! It was so cool!

The giant pumpkins were my dad's idea, not quite sure how we'll move them once they get huge. We don't have a fork lift, we do have a kubota tractor though.

Sorry guys gona say a quick hi in this post then leave lol got huge phobia of the horrible things I know strange but been like it since j was young clown and pumpkins *shudders* xx
Hi! That's okay I completely understand. I actually passed out at a fish aquarium because of my phobia. I had my back turned towards the tank wall when my husband told me to turn around and right there was a Great White Shark inches from my face. We looked into each other's eyes and I was a goner! Well at least unconscious for 30 seconds😅 Everyone else loved seeing the shark so close, but I lost it! That was 6 years ago and I have not gone to an aquarium since.

I would love to turn my lawn into a pumpkin patch, but i don't think my husband would let me😅
Well, after 29 years of my Ex not letting me have chickens, or more than one pupster, we got rid of him! 8 chickens, 4 bunnies & 3 pupsters are way better! We can do what we like now! And the lawn--I mean pumpkin plants--are growing nicely! :D:):D

Big fan of winter squash. Halloween is my favorite holiday so it all ties in. Already picked this beauty before the deer got at it--it's a Howden.
