Do you made your chicken coop manually?

I made mine by throwing money at it. Over and over and over again ;( In fact, I'm planning another trip to the hardware store first thing in the morning. Has anyone actually "finished" a chicken coop?

for free! well, for the most part. locals know to give me old doghouses etc. many of them are half rotten and falling apart. i simply take them a part a bit, put them back together with junk & old lumber i find in the yard, sometimes even good strong tree branches. add hinges to the top and VIOLA! chicken house. also add nest boxes & perches.

i use shipping pallets (free) and saining net (also free). the net is about 1/2 in mesh and we are a commercial fishing town. fishermen have a "trash & trade" pile at the harbor. you can leave old fishing gear there or pick it up. they also have other useful stuff like shipping crates, rope, hammers, you name it! lotsa cool stuff.

so people build them, give them to me and i repair and modify!

I dunno I had to crack the whip a few times to get mine where it is now. And it still needs to be worked on. But yes we did ours manualy. We used tools of course. Saw, power drill, etc. And the materials were bought from Lowes. As well as some that I got for free. As in the wood pallets my uncle brought me, and the peice of plywood my dad gave me that was left over from when he was putting in a new floor on my grandma's house.
