Do you recommend electric fencing?

I just put up over 400 feet of Poultry netting and SO FAR it's working fine. Pricey, yes, but at about a buck a foot after trying out other fencing alternatives it required the least work and is easy to move if needed. Buy the kind with more stakes if you can afford it - I didn't, because I needed the 164 foot pieces - still works fine but can be saggy when making corners, even when using extra stakes.

Thanks everyone! Premier was where we were looking so I'm glad we're on the right track. I know the electric fence may seem a bit extreme for a back yard flock of four chickens smack dab in the middle of the Jersey Shore, NJ but when something kills half of your birds and little kids are involved, it's a small price to pay.
Thanks everyone!
I dont think it is extreme at all if it keeps one chicken from being killed then it well worth it we are going to to put up the poultry netting type

It is possible to install EF to keep out snakes and snails but the arrangement of the wires is horizontal rather than vertical as in standard fences.
