Do you say 'soda' or 'pop'?

When i first came to North Carolina back in the early 70's a soda was simply called a "drink" such as, do you want a drink? or get me a drink out of the store, well , what do you want coke or pepsi? or, hand me that drink off the table....no matter what kind coke, pepsi, nehi, orange crush or tab, it was just a ..drink

Ha I say POP....its the only northern word i have left.......I have a pure southern drawl and say pop LOL

I say "soda" but most here just say "Coke". A "pop" is what a child gets threatened with when they misbehave.

LOl...as I child I always Soda (growing up with my spanish/english family) then as I grew I began saying pop because people made fun of me...even now if I say soda my Dh snickers at me....

I also hold up my pinky involuntarily when drinking anything and people snicker at me when they notice
