Do you sell duck eggs?

If you do, who do you market to? Did you get your egg handlers license? or do you sell from your home? Im thinking this year to contact bakers and sell directly to the bakery, however this will mean driving a bit more. Im also looking into finished non cooked duck egg products but haven't found anything on the laws regarding them. Duck egg mayo is one thing I would like to market locally.

I don't sell eggs but I bought them from local supplies and farm stands & farmers markets for a long time before I decided it would be cheaper to raise my own eggs.

When i'm located the farm stand or producers selling at markets have to get a permit or license from the state. It's a farm stand/ farmer's market permit that excludes them from the more rigorous policies of factory farming but still ensure they meet some safety requirements.

Check your state government farm stand or agriculture departments. If there is nothing there I'd check your local government website just in case they require a permit for sales. Some farm insurers also provide farm stand liability insurance.

Here in Iowa you can sell as many as you like out the door, off the farm. however to sell in a store, or directly to a bakery for example you have to have an egg handling license. They are not expensive. They run Oct to Oct, and base the amount owed by the number of cases you sold LAST April. Because you sold Zero, eggs ( under the license) last April, your first year is always going to be 20.00. You have to show you know how to candle eggs, wash them, etc basically sell a safe product. also you have to have your cartons stamped with proper info, your license number, your contact number, sell by date and so on.
It really isn't has hard as I thought it would be. There is one woman I know with 9 ducks and she makes a profit.
