DO you sell your eggs?

Quote:
Is that out of your home? From what I have been told you can sell them in Florida out of your home. But if you sell them at a business or your distribute/deliver them you have to have a license.

I found this on the SC dept of Agriculture website

SECTION 39-39-170. Exemptions.

The following are exempt from this chapter:

(1) persons who buy or sell eggs to be used exclusively for hatching purposes;

(2) shipments of eggs in interstate commerce;

(3) persons who sell eggs at a roadside stand near the farm on which the eggs were produced.

SECTION 39-39-180.

In North Carolina, anyone can sell up to thirty (i think) dozen a week without having any sort of certification or inspection. You just have to clean and refrigerate them before you sell them.

I am in Roanoke (City), VA and the code says we can't sell eggs. I have a few who buy from me and I always tell them they are making a "donation" to offset the cost of food! What is so funny is there is a 13 yr old boy in my neighborhood who is raising quail and selling the eggs to a local restuarant - there was a big write up in the paper. As I read it and saw he was selling eggs I was wondering if he could get in trouble.

Once our new girls start laying my kids want to set up a stand on the curb to sell eggs, thinking if they make a sign saying "Donation" it would be ok? Hope so I know it would be very exciting for them!!
