A looooooooong time ago my father brought home a friend to go hunting with and he (the friend) came in that evening saying all they had shot was a black bird and showed it to mum (second mistake lol) and she said "Hope you like black birds sport!"
She made him pluck and clean it, she cooked it and served it up to him and by gum, he ate it!
A bit formidable, is me mum lol
She had a bite and said it was quite nice but he got the lesson, if you kill it, you eat it!
As someone else has said, its not killing thats the problem, its enjoying an animals pain. No true hunter wants to hurt an animal, they want to kill it cleanly.
And I would LOVE to kill a bear, mostly because I have read that nice fat fall bear is lovely to eat and a nice thick bear skin throw would be cosy on the bed
